ET Interview with Melissa Rosenberg

ET: Are you writing for the chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart?
Melissa Rosenberg: When I wrote ‘Twilight,’ I didn’t know who was starring in it, so I wrote in a vacuum. There was some rewriting that had to be done when we knew who they were, because I had started with more of a comedic edge and it wasn’t appropriate for those actors and the tone. I lean toward the dark comedy, witness “Dexter.” So, going into ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse,’ I knew who I was writing for. I knew who the characters were and what their voices were. It got even easier with ‘Eclipse.’ [Author] Stephenie Meyer’s created the character’s chemistry; and those two actors brought so much chemistry. I don’t think the movies would have been so successful without those two actors and their chemistry. ‘Twilight’ was beautifully cast.

15 Things About Robert Pattinson
hollywood.com interviewed robert pattinson while on a visit at the new moon set!

Here’s one thing they learned about him:
Robert is alarmingly, nerve-wrackingly handsome in person. He also seems to have some sort of gravitational pull, as every woman on set, not limited to, but certainly including me, inched closer to him as covertly as possible when he was in the vicinity. He didn’t seem to care or notice.

Taylor Lautner Interview
Hitfix.com has an interview with Taylor Lautner

Becoming a movie heartthrob is never easy and Taylor Lautner is handling it with as much patience and class that you could expect for a 17-year-old whose become instantly recognizable to almost every teenage girl in his peer group. So, when this writer and a number of journalists visited the set of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in May, Lautner was kind enough to journey to the Vancouver studio during his offtime to chat about the highly-anticipated sequel. It’s well documented how much work Lautner did to gain the muscle mass to play Jacob, a character that is described as physically imposing in Stephenie Meyer’s books.

Hitflix Interview w/ Michael Sheen

“I love the thing in the books that Stephenie [Meyer] wrote about how these vampires are all – well, the Cullen family – really beautiful, and that’s what lures people into their web,” Sheen admits. “And yet, Aro is not like that. She describes Aro as being not the same sort of thing. I like the idea that it’s his voice that lulls people in or his sort of demeanor rather than the way he looks, because he looks quite weird and scary. But yes, I’ve tried to go down that route [to]make him very mesmerizing to people, that his voice is gentle and soft. And yet, there’s something kind of unhinged about him.”
On this day, Sheen is in the middle of a dramatic scene where he meets Bella (Kristen Stewart) for the first time. He says Stephenie told him she loved writing this moment in the book and he’s personally read the passage over and over again because of the detail she provides about Aro within it.
“She describes his voice as being quite feathery – that’s what gave me the idea of making it very soft, and light. I think she describes it as being like a sigh, his voice,” Sheen says. “And that he’s a bit like a concerned grandfather at times, with Edward. I like the idea of him being, even though he’s this kind of deadly, really dangerous character, there’s something quite sentimental about him, quite soft, and yet the next moment he could eat you.”

Xavier Samuel As Riley in Eclipse
The West Australian and Rachelle Lefevre have confirmed that the Australian actor Xavier Samuel will be cast as Riley in Eclipse.

Little-known Aussie actor Xavier Samuel is headed for the big time after landing a role in one of the hottest movie franchises around: Twilight.
Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight series based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer, his management company Shanahan Management told AAP.
He will play Riley, a good-looking college student and newborn vampire, who joins villain Victoria’s plot to murder Bella (Kristen Stewart).
“I’m really thrilled, but also very overwhelmed, I don’t think it has sunk in yet,” Samuel said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m really excited to be part of the film.”
